New patients
We are accepting new patients. Your first appointment is a long consultation so your doctor can take a proper history.
What to bring to your first appointment
- Photo ID and your health insurance or health-care card
- A list of your current medicines, or the boxes
- Any recent test results, letters or your previous practice details so we can request your records
- Your immunisation record, especially for children
- Your concession card, if you have one
Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete a registration form, or ask reception to email it to you so you can bring it filled in.
Fees and billing
Fees are payable on the day by card or phone payment. Where a government or insurance rebate applies, we can usually claim it for you at reception so you only pay the gap.
| Appointment | Length | Standard fee | Concession |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard consultation | Up to 15 minutes | $85 | $55 |
| Long consultation | Up to 30 minutes | $140 | $95 |
| Telehealth (phone or video) | Up to 15 minutes | $75 | $50 |
| Nurse appointment | Up to 20 minutes | $40 | $25 |
Concession rates apply to children under 16, pensioners, students and holders of a concession or health-care card. Please bring your card to each visit.
Procedures, vaccines, medicals and some longer appointments have additional fees. Reception will tell you the cost before you book. Missed appointments without 24 hours notice may incur a $40 fee.
Repeat prescriptions
If you are on a stable medicine and have seen your doctor in the last twelve months, you can request a repeat without an appointment. Please allow 48 hours.
- Phone reception or use the request form on the contact page, naming the medication and your usual doctor.
- Requests are reviewed by your doctor between appointments. Allow 48 hours (two working days).
- Collect the script at reception or ask for it to be sent electronically to your pharmacy.
Some medicines cannot be repeated without a consultation, including most strong pain relief, sleeping tablets and medicines that need regular monitoring. If it has been more than twelve months since your last review, please book an appointment.
Referrals and results
How we tell you about results
- Your doctor reviews every result as it arrives, usually within two working days.
- If a result needs action, we will call you or send an SMS asking you to book a follow-up.
- Normal results are not routinely phoned out, but you are always welcome to call reception and ask.
No news is not good news. If you have not heard from us within a week of a test, please call.
Referrals
Referrals to specialists are written during a consultation so the specialist has the information they need. Most referrals last 12 months. If yours has expired, book a standard appointment and we will update it.
Home visits
Home visits are available for regular patients who are too unwell or frail to come to the practice, within 5 km of the centre. Please phone before 10:00 so the doctor can plan the visit for the afternoon. A home visit fee applies.
After hours, the after-hours doctor service can arrange a visit.
Privacy
A short summary of how we handle your information. Ask reception for the full policy.
- We collect only the information we need to look after you safely: your contact details, medical history, test results and correspondence with other health providers.
- Your record is stored securely and seen only by the people involved in your care. We do not share it with anyone else without your consent, unless the law requires it.
- You can ask to see your record or request a copy at any time. Ask reception for the access form; we aim to respond within 30 days.
Feedback and complaints
If something went well, tell us: it makes the day of the person involved. If something went wrong, we want to know so we can fix it. Speak to our practice manager, use the feedback form on the contact page, or leave a note in the box at reception. Complaints are acknowledged within two working days and you will hear the outcome within four weeks. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact your regional health complaints body.
